Most of the PWSZ students come from Nowy Sącz and from its neighboring regions, but there is also a big group of students coming from other regions of Małopolska and from other voivodships.
The PWSZ students participate in many organizations at the university, including student council, scientific societies, the PWSZ convent and senate, as well as they can develop their interests through active participation in several different student groups. The students also organize a number of events every year, one of the most popular being the Juwenalia student festival in May.
Co-operation with the community is a very important element of the university work, for both the students and the staff. The PWSZ students actively participate in many projects and maintain close links with the local community.
The location of Nowy Sącz in the mountain area creates congenial conditions for participating in various disciplines of sport and leisure. The PWSZ students have achieved both as individuals and in teams top positions in numerous competitions and sports tournaments.
