International co operation

PWSZ in Nowy Sacz co-operates with numerous foreign universities, i.g.:

Higher Vocational School in Zittau-Görlitz in Germany,
University in Presov, Slovakia
Narvik University College in Norway
Harstad University College in Norway
Catholic Institute of Arts and Crafts, ICAM in France

Co-operation is based mainly on student and academic staff exchange, organization of joint academic meetings and exchanging of academic publications. Further example of international collaboration is the participation of the PWSZ students in several abroad workshops as well as in the different European Union integration programmes.

Socrates/Erasmus programme

ERASMUS is a programme that seeks to enhance the quality and reinforce the European dimension of higher education by encouraging transnational cooperation between universities, boosting European mobility and improving the transparency and full academic recognition of studies and qualifications throughout the Union.

ERASMUS is targeted at higher education institutions and their students and staff in all 25 Member States of the European Union, the three countries of the European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), the three candidate countries (Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey).

For students ERASMUS offers the possibility of studying abroad in another European country for a period of between 3 and 12 months. It's a wonderful opportunity to study at a foreign university, to learn a new language, to meet new people and to get know a different culture! Thanks to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) the studies at the foreign university will be fully recognized by the home university.

ERASMUS students receive a study grant and don't have to pay university fees abroad. In order to participate the programme there must be a partnership agreement between the universities.
