w Nowym Sączu (PWSZ)

is a state college established by government order on June 16, 1998 as one of the first schools of this type in Poland. It is located in the charming town Nowy Sacz, in the beautiful and mountainous area of South Poland.
The PWSZ students can find their specialization among the subjects offered by the five PWSZ institutes: the Institute of Economics, the Institute of Foreign languages, the Institute of Pedagogy, the Institute of Engineering and the Institute of Nursing. Full-time studies at PWSZ are free and last 3- 3,5 years depending on the chosen specialization. PWSZ also offers evening and weekend study programs for full-time employees, as well as post-diploma studies. The School?s graduates are awarded either a licentiate diploma (Bachelor of Arts degree) or an engineering diploma (Bachelor of Science degree). Graduates may then work in their chosen profession as well as pursue post-graduate studies.
In the beginning of the academic year 2005/06 there were 4004 students at PWSZ altogether, including 2904 full-time students, 1016 external students and 124 evening students. The number of post-diploma students was 120.
